Well, it's just been confirmed that the 2011 Tour de France will indeed be passing through the centre of Pézenas town on Sunday 17th July. Great news for cycling fans in the area but those of us who can't be there on the day will certainly be watching the spectacle live on TV...and what a visually stunning stage it will be - the countryside in the surrounding area is spectacular! The stage starts in beautiful Limoux, then passes through Carcassonne with, I'm sure, stunning footage of the castle, following along the Canal du Midi, through the miles of vineyards around Pézenas, before finishing some 4-5 hours later in Montpellier, the jewel of the South of France.
