There comes a point on every family holiday, no matter how glorious the pool, where it becomes "just another day at the beach" - and something different is demanded. Well, try this! For large and small kids alike, if you would like to experience adventure and test your agility, balance and endurance, you must visit La Foret d'Acrobates. It's an outdoor adventure centre set in the woods, a 15 minute drive east of Pezenas.
They offer obstacle courses and challenges, graded by age and difficulty - for example walking a tightrope, crawl through suspended tubes, walk on different types of bridges, such as a rope bridge, a suspended bridge and a zig zag bridge, jumping off a cliff into a huge net, or maneuvering a platform down a series of ropes. You can also try your hand at canoeing, kayaking, rafting, or rock climbing
Whew, tired just thinking about it! From June to September, it's open 7 days a week from 9am - 6.30pm. Prices, map and further details available from their website.

Espace Grand Bleu - Fun for the Kids
Although I would happily laze by the pool in the Coteau, or plonk myself down on one of the sunloungers on our sunny terrace reading, there are days when the kids demand something more - action & entertainment! We found this resort complex online and our five year old Isabelle is determined to get there on our next trip. It's the Grand Espace Blu - a pool and kids complex in the famous, purpose-built resort of La Grande Motte, southeast of Montpellier. Reviews seem very positive, and it's very accessible by motorway (1 hour). It will make a great day out, followed by a family BBQ in the evening, and hopefully an early night (for the kids!).
